Re: Temporary Facility Closures as a Precaution due to COVID-19

At a special Council meeting held on March 14th, 2020, Council of the Township of Lake of Bays in an effort to protect the health and safety of the Lake of Bays residents and staff have decided to make the following changes to services offered as a precaution due to COVID-19:

Lake of Bays Community Centre (Baysville) and Dwight Community Centre will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 16th, 2020 and all programs and services offered to the public will be cancelled until further notice.

Baysville Arena will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 16th, 2020 and all programs and services offered to the public will be cancelled until further notice.

Lake of Bays Public Library – both Baysville and Dwight branches will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 16th, 2020 and all programs and services offered to the public will be cancelled until further notice.

Senior Centres will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 16th, 2020 and all programs and services offered to the public will be cancelled until further notice.

Public Works Facilities and Fire Halls will be restricted access only.

RE: COVID-19 Update: Municipal Office Temporary Closure to the Public

(LAKE OF BAYS, ON) Effective Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 at 4:00 p.m., the Township of Lake of Bays will close their Municipal Office to the public until further notice due to the evolving efforts to flatten the curve of COVID- 19 spreading throughout our area, and the Provincial State of Emergency declared this morning by Premier Doug Ford.

Township services will continue to be offered online through the Township website, email and over the phone where possible. All departments remain functional and will continue to interact with the public by phone and/or email. Public Works yards and Fire Halls will continue to operate with restricted access to the public.

All regular Council and Committee meetings have been cancelled until further notice as part of the Township’s COVID-19 response.
